Yoga Bharati offers Advanced Yoga Teacher Training Course (RYT-300 towards RYT-500) to build depth in the yoga practice and to be able to teach yoga principles and practices to the community at large. We delve deep into  yogic philosophy from the ancient scriptures of Upanishad, Bhagavad Gita and Patanjali Yoga Sutras. Yoga Immersion Course

Join our intensive weekend and short weekend of philosophy learning to get an overview of yoga as therapy along with its philosophical core. It can be a great refresher course for you.

(Applies towards Continued Education units and electives for yoga teachers, DYT, YTT, and AYTT students - as applicable); a subset of the Diploma in Yoga Therapy.

Advanced Yoga Teacher Training Course

Pre-requisites:

  • YIC/YTT (Yoga Instructors Course or Yoga Teachers Training) from Yoga Bharati (RYT-200 or equivalent)

  • Or Yoga Teacher Training from any other school with a minimum of 200 hours of training.

Module 1 - Starts Fall 2024

Dates:

Please note: The approximate calendar is below. There is a possibility of minor changes in the schedule during the course.

  1. Intensive First weekend followed by Half Day sessions on Sat and Sun

  2. Monthly Half Day Weekend Sessions and Sunday Short sessions

    A. Half Day Weekends (Second weekend of the month - Sat and Sun)

    B. Mid-Month short sessions - 2 sessions per month (usually 1st and 3rd Sundays); some exceptions*

  3. Additional training using audio, video, and reading materials will be part of the course. Assignments and quiz on a regular basis makes the program effective and engaging.

The course is delivered in Five Modules. Details are mentioned below.

Module 2 - Workshops and Retreats

Various topics from experts will be given in this module.

Workshops and Retreats on various topics of yoga teaching, as given below, are required :

  • Deepen Your Yoga Workshop

  • Specialty Yoga Training (Seniors, Kids, Prenatal, Women, At-Risk Youth)

  • Yoga for Special Needs Population

  • Ayurveda for Lifestyle

  • Stress Management Workshop

  • Meditation and Pranayama sessions

  • Philosophy Sessions - Upanishads and Gita, Brahmasutra, Atma Bodha, Tattva Bodha, Sankhya

  • Study Groups arranged by Senior teachers (ERYT-500) on Asana techniques and philosophy

  • Yogic Cleansing Kriyas

  • Advancing in Yoga

  • Yoga Offsite Retreat or workshops for Hands-on training sessions

Detailed requirements will be given upon request. We publish a calendar of events 3-4 months in advance. You will be required to signup and take these courses.

Module 3 - Internship 

Duration: At your pace.  To shadow and assist senior teachers

  • 10 hours - Specialized yoga sessions (Deepen your yoga, deepen your pranayama. prenatal, seniors, other focus groups)

  • 20 hours - Yoga Teacher Training session shadowing and assisting

The student is required to assist the primary teacher in the class setting and eventually be able to lead the session. The students will also be required to assist the senior faculty in Yoga Teacher Training classes. The students will lead the classes under the guidance of senior teachers and the faculty in Yoga Teacher Training sessions. Practicum also includes observing the class, the students, and their practices, adjusting and helping the students to reach their maximum potential, learning the classroom dynamics, and discussing the session dynamics for 15-20 mins with the primary instructor after the class. The students should also provide assistance to the primary teacher in the class logistics.  The student should maintain a journal of class log and a report on the work done during the internship in a prescribed format. The students should submit the journal to the faculty with the mentor's signature.

Module 4  Practicum Delivery & Project Report 

Duration: At your pace

  • 30 hours of teaching as practicum delivery under the mentorship

  • A detailed report on a yoga subject on three areas of yoga. For example - Yoga for kids, Yoga for Seniors, Prenatal Yoga, Yoga for the blind, Yoga for Veterans, Yoga in Assisted Living Centers, etc. The report includes two case studies in three areas of yoga fields. Ex. Prenatal Yoga, Yoga for Kids, Yoga for Special Needs Children or Adults, etc. In addition, students will attend a workshop and submit data collected pre/post-experience of participants. Students are also required to write a critical evaluation of a workshop that they attended or a yoga-related article.

Installment: You can make a down Payment of $2000 followed by a Monthly installment of $500 (if you need to pay as installments: 0% interest rate)
